Pharisee

Paarisees – a religious party among the Jews mentioned in New Testament. They were part of Supreme counsel (Sanhedrin) and laid great stress upon the observance of rites and ceremonies. They made a pretence of superior piety and separated themselves from the common people. They were disdainful to the people who didn't keep religious rules.
